  • As a tax exile, he is only permitted to stay in the United Kingdom a maximum of 90 days a year, while the rest of the year he lives in Los Angeles.
  • Discovered by his manager, former singer Gordon Mills, after years of obscurity touring and recording as "Gerry Dorsey". Mills founded the MAM record label and also managed Tom Jones, Gilbert O'Sullivan and Lynsey de Paul.
  • Is one of the wealthiest musicians in the business - worth around $100 million dollars.
  • He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on October 23, 1989.
  • He was awarded a star on Leicester's Walk of Fame in Leicester, England on April 24, 2010.
  • He was awarded a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 20, 2011.
  • Born in Madras, India, but raised in Leicester, England.
  • He spent his wedding night in a tree house and his bachelor night on a mattress in the front room of Sean Barry-Weske's house in South London.
  • Father, with wife Patricia Healey, of daughter Louise Dorsey, and sons Bradley Dorsey, Jason Dorsey, Scott Dorsey.
