Biography

Doug has been working as an actor, playwright and voice artist for over 40 years. He spent thirteen seasons as a company member at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, and another three seasons at the Stratford Festival. He has worked in theatres across Canada and in the U.S., as well as in film, TV and radio. With his writing partner, Marcia Kash, Doug has written six plays to date, the first five of which have all been published by Concord Entertainment. Collectively, they have had over 300 productions in sixteen countries around the world, and have been translated into ten languages. Their latest is a comedy/thriller entitled "Deadline", which had its premiere at the Human Race Theatre in Dayton, Ohio, in the fall of 2022. Doug has also penned two novels of his own, the comedy/thriller "The Poor Player" and its sequel, "The Shaming of the True." He and Marcia are now adapting their fourth play, the comedy "Jack of Diamonds", into a screenplay.
