Top 10 Games of 2016

by felixfaj • Created 8 years ago • Modified 8 years ago
Ranking up the best games that I have played of 2016. This list is in order and remember that this is a opinion. Some of you may disagree and some may not.

Games that I missed out were Inside, Firewatch, The Witness, Forza Horizon 3 and Final Fantasy.

Games that almost made my list are Gears of War 4, Superhot, ABZU, Infinite Warfare (due to the campaign), Watch Dogs 2, Hitman and Deus Ex.

  • Nolan North in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (2016)

    1. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

    201616Video Game
    9.4 (41K)
Thrown back into the dangerous underworld he'd tried to leave behind, Nathan Drake must decide what he's willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.
DirectorsNeil DruckmannBruce StraleyStarsNolan NorthTroy BakerRichard McGonagle
Well, what can you say about this game? This game is simply amazing and absolutely THE BEST Action/Adventure game of all time!! Saying goodbye to Nathan Drake and his family was a difficult move and sad move, but you cannot deny that the last adventure was worth it. It ended the series in such a great way. The story is excellent and I find it the best in the series and overall best story of 2016 where Uncharted 2 comes second in the series and The Last Guardian comes as Runner Up for Best Story of 2016. The gameplay was amazing, where the action kicks in a great way with the amazing battle soundtracks. The new added mechanics such as drivable jeeps, rope, notes and optional dialogues and conversations are all interesting and helped the gameplay to be even more fun and awesome. The open areas makes the opportunity to explore bigger. The combat is satisfying and the voice acting super as always. Setpieces are jaw dropping and the game even got one of the best looking graphics to date. Uncharted 4 is a masterpiece and I can't be more proud of Naughty Dog for creating it! Uncharted 4 comes even with a decent and fun multiplayer and the survival mode that got released for a while ago is a blast!
  • Dark Souls III (2016)

    2. Dark Souls III

    2016MVideo Game
    9.1 (7.2K)
The fire is fading. Darkness creeps across the land. The Lords of Cinder charged with watching over the First Flame have abandoned their thrones. The Champion of Ash, an undead is chosen to return them to their thrones.
DirectorsHidetaka MiyazakiYajuan ChengJun'ya MoritaStarsPik Sen LimOlivia MaceRoger Ringrose
I have always been a fan of the Souls series. Dark Souls 3 for me was one of the best experiences I had last year. It's just really well done, with one of the most fantastic boss battles of 2016 along with one of the best soundtracks. Dark Souls 3 was a blast and I feel like the game did not get the recognition it deserved when it comes to game awards.
  • Matthew Mercer and Glenn Steinbaum in Titanfall 2 (2016)

    3. Titanfall 2

    2016MVideo Game
    8.5 (5.5K)
At the edge of the Frontier, a Titan and a common footsoldier are unexpectedly thrown together in a desperate attempt to prevent a catastrophic event.
    DirectorSteve FukudaStarsMatthew MercerGlenn SteinbaumFred Tatasciore
Titanfall 2 blew me away, not because it was the most mind blowing game of 2016, but because it surprised me so much and went beyond my expectations. I found Titanfall 1 good because of its fun multiplayer but I felt that contents were missing and oh boy we got that in Titanfall 2! A campaign and damn they delivered on both factors. The multiplayer is fun and amazing, enough said. The campaign is well written and executed so well. It's not perfect but damn it's amazing. It's short but It's good enough for me.
  • Ratchet & Clank (2016)

    4. Ratchet & Clank

    2016E10+Video Game
    7.9 (3.3K)
Ratchet and Clank join together with Captain Qwark and more as you battle your way from planet to planet in order to save the Solana Galaxy from the villainous Chairman Drek.
DirectorBrian AllgeierStarsJames Arnold TaylorDavid KayeJim Ward
I have never really played many Ratchet and Clank games before but I have tried out one and it was good as I remember. This one was amazing. The gameplay was super fun and everything felt like a Pixar movie with the graphics. I think Ratchet and Clank must have been the most funniest experiences of 2016 for me when it comes to single player.
  • Doom (2016)

    5. Doom

    201618Video Game
    8.5 (8.3K)
On Mars, a massive research facility tapping energy from hell has been overwhelmed by demonic forces. As the last DOOM Slayer, you have been resurrected to do one thing: to cleanse this world and send them back to where they came from.
DirectorMarty StrattonStarsDarin De PaulKevin SchonAbby Craden
Doom! Oh damn. We all got that great and bad ass feeling when the music started to kick in, right? Doom was the most bad ass game I have played in 2016 and probably for a long time. Doom was one of my favorite shooters of 2016. The game is fantastic. It's badass, it's graphical stunning, It's gory, It's fcking awesome! The multiplayer was decent for me and well fast paced, but the campaign is where Doom stands out as one of the best shooters of 2016.
  • The Last Guardian (2016)

    6. The Last Guardian

    201612Video Game
    8.0 (1.8K)
The tale of a young boy's friendship with a griffin-like creature who escaped captivity.
DirectorsFumito UedaMasanobu TanakaStarsTatsuki IshikawaHiroshi ShirokumaMasaki Aizawa
The Last Guardian is beautiful and well told as a story. It's one of the best stories of 2016 along with Uncharted and that is the reason why this game shines. This game was emotional, it was epic and the music gave me chills. What makes it end up on number 6 was the gameplay performance at some points and the controls. Some sections could be annoying at times since puzzles or AI would not work as it's supposed to but most of these flaws was sometimes forgotten due to the story in the game. It was simply emotional and amazing.
  • Battlefield 1 (2016)

    7. Battlefield 1

    2016MVideo Game
    8.1 (8.9K)
Fight your way through battles going from urban combat in a besieged French city to open spaces in the Italian Alps or frantic combats in the Arabic sand dunes. Experience large-scale battles as infantry or piloting vehicles on land, air and sea, from the tanks and bikes on the ground, to bi-planes and gigantic battleships.
DirectorsLars GustavssonEric HolmesMarcus KrylerStarsLucas AdamsDeniz AkdenizJeff Berg
Battlefield 1 is an amazing shooter game. The multiplayer is awesome and it's really fun to play. Battlefield 1 has one of the best graphics of 2016 along with Doom and Uncharted 4 and the gameplay performance was great as usual since it's a DICE game. We finally got the World War 1 game we wanted! The campaign was amazing and I loved that we got to explore these type of different character stories from different countries but the negative thing is that the campaign is really short and if it would have been longer, they would have gotten time to make us care about the characters and the stories. Overall Battlefield 1 is a great shooter game and I recommend it to everyone!
  • Cara Theobold in Overwatch (2016)

    8. Overwatch

    201612Video Game
    8.2 (6.2K)
After a devastating war against a combat-ready team of intelligent machines known as Omnics, the former agents of the heroic team known as Overwatch must join forces once more to fight a new threat.
DirectorsJeffrey KaplanAaron KellerStarsAaron PhillipsAnjali BhimaniCara Theobold
Overwatch gotta be the most funniest experiences when it comes to multiplayer of 2016. It's popular by a reason and I can see why the game will last very long. The game is amazing. All the characters you get to choose are balanced in their ways and it makes it fun to use all of them. None of the characters are useless, and some characters are better against some characters. I really wish this game would have more content but the multiplayer is so much fun that I am almost playing it everyday.
  • Doug Cockle and Jacek Rozenek in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015)

    9. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

    201518Video Game
    9.6 (38K)
The monster slayer Geralt of Rivia must find his adoptive daughter who is being pursued by the Wild Hunt, and prevent the White Frost from bringing about the end of the world.
    DirectorKonrad TomaszkiewiczStarsDoug CockleDenise GoughJo Wyatt
The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is one of the best expansion to date! It's even bigger than some games that got released in the past years and even better when it comes to quality. I did not enjoy the game as much as the other games I mentioned above, but it's so much impressing that an add on made it to my list. Witcher 3 got my GOTY of 2015 and I am so glad that the add ons did not disappoint! I love you CD Projekt Red!
  • Erica Luttrell and Stephen Russell in Dishonored 2 (2016)

    10. Dishonored 2

    2016MVideo Game
    8.3 (4K)
Fifteen years after the events of the first game, Emily Kaldwin is dethroned by an otherworldly conspirator forcing herself, or her father, Corvo (not canon) to go on a journey to clear her name and reinstate her rightful title as Empress.
DirectorsRaphael ColantonioHarvey SmithStarsErica LuttrellStephen RussellRosario Dawson
This game is amazing! All of the games I mentioned are amazing and deserved to be on the list. Dishonored 2 was the best stealth game of 2016 and the art style was incredible. The story was decent for me, but sometimes I did not feel very connected to the game. Something felt odd, it's not like I got bored or anything but did not like it as much as the games above. It does not take away the fact that the game is amazing in the end!
