One thing about Columbo. Almost every episode was a cat and mouse game with Columbo versus the villain. Usually the villain would make a mistake or confess. Not here. This was chess. Columbo was White and Dr. Barry Mayfield (Leonard Nimoy) was Black. Mayfield was an evil version of Mr: Spock. He even had the Spock lifted eyebrow. For every move Columbo made, he had a brilliant countermove. He even got Columbo to lose his temper out of frustration. Unless Columbo really hated the villain like Milo Janus ( Robert Conrad) in An Exercise In Fatality, he never did that. Did Columbo win? Yes. Because at the last minute he figured things out. But NOT because of a mistake on confession by Mayfield. 9/10 stars.

Dr: Goldfarb and the Bikini Machine which I saw yesterday on Amazon yesterday is an incredibly stupid film. In fact if I made a list of the worst films of the 1960's it would be Candy ( 1968) Walk On The Wild Side and Dr Goldfarb in that order. Is there anything I liked? Sure the opening credits and the Annette Funicello cameo in the crypt. What are the worst things? 1: The scenes involving Susan Hart, which really made absolutely no sense. 2: The chase scene in San Francisco with the most obvious use of a blue screen I ever saw. Then there is the case of Vincent Price ( Dr. Goldfarb) who offers up the worst performance I ever saw from him. 1 out of 10 stars is too good for me. This film gets 3/4 of a star from me. 1/3 for the credits and 1/2 for 15 seconds of Annette.
