A step away from traditions Doctor who that focuses on character development.
I found this episode moving, meaningful and clever. A lot of people say Steven Moffat's second era with Capaldi is too message based however I believe the show has matured and grown just like the audience has. For me Capaldi's era was doctor who at its peak with this episode being one of the best, We truly did not appreciate what we had until it was gone.
A Great bit of story telling and a perfect solo performance by Capaldi.
I thought the pacing and cinematography was also perfect having clearly been filmed and edited by some talented people.
I found it to be a perfect way to bring the series story to its penultimate conclusion.
