I don't comment on very many movies, but I feel compelled to comment on "Savoring Paris". I an a big fan of Bethany Joy Lenz. I have watched almost all of her Hallmark movies. This one is the only one that I would give 1 star to. The costuming for Bethany IMHO makes her look cheap. The one with the red dress and black puff really turned me off. She is also in another scene dressed in black with way too much skin for my taste. Maybe is it just me that I am old fashioned. I also don't understand the need for Gaston. He is 8 years younger than Bethany and a boy compared to her. With him playing the future boy toy this also makes Bethany look cheap in another way. Don t waste your time on this movie if you've seen other Hallmark movies of Bethany's.
When I first saw the trailer of this movie on IMDB I knew I had to see it. I am romantic person by nature, and I read a lot of romance novels. My favorite trope is enemies to lovers which is nearly the plot of this movie, so I knew I was going to like the movie. Tom does everything right even though Alma tries to show him wrong. One of my favorite scenes is Alma smiling at Tom when she sees him in the museum looking at the ancient statues and architecture. It was then that I knew she began to love him. The ending of this movie is my other favorite scene, and needs to be closely watched to be appreciated.
This was the first film of Betty Gilpin that I've seen, and I was the very impressed. She made the character believable and her stunts were perfection. Since I wrote this review a while back I've watched it again. Betty should have been nominated for a award for an Academy Award. Her performance was #$!%^ great.
