This is sort of a mash-up of Road House, HeeHaw, and the Lifetime Network. I say they should have spent less on special effects and more on script writing. So So very predictable. If you are not a fan of country music you are going to find this a bit hard to follow on mute. I cared so little for any of the characters in this movie that the thought of any of them being sucked up into the clouds could have only eased my suffering.

How this comes out with a 6+ rating amazes me.

Will the handsome guy get the girl?

How about that hail?

Wow when the water tank fell over.

Exploding refineries.

The ending comes way too late.

I wish I knew how to convey my thoughts in a manner that explains the impact this series has had on me, I stumbled on James Franco in 11m 22 63 because my tinfoil hat and JFK's murder led me to and I concluded that Franco is pretty damn good, what else has he done? The Deuce. Franco playing himself and his twin brother are my age in real life so I felt right at home. It has nailed the 70's; the culture, the music, the drugs, the women's movement, government corruption, developers greed, the porn industry from video arcades to VHS all wrapped up inside the struggle we all have to find purpose, love and happiness.

The soundtrack! OMFG! The soundtrack! It's like they found that giant 8-track case that was stolen out of my Econoline Van and came back for the cassette tapes in my Mustang. "Dreaming" by Blondie is heard a lot in the last two seasons and it the theme song for the series. All the characters had their dreams as do we all.

Wait for the final episode and Blondie closes out with a song so moving that I fell apart and realized the series was about my life too and my search for love and happiness.

The Deuce is among the finest TV/films I have ever seen. I hope you give it a viewing.

This leave me asking the question Why isn't The Deuce better known? Where are the awards and acclaim it is due?

I got it. The "eye" is "I" is "WE" in this powerful story of loneliness, desire, and insecurity.

Palm trees and curtains blowing in the breeze show us there is no shelter in the coming storm as each of us fights for survival.

Drivel? You betch 'ya. I just needed for a moment to pretend I had a clue what was being said in this movie. I came for the demons but stayed for the boyish beautiful models hoping for some nudity or maybe something so basic that I could wrap my mind around.

Some of us must have been made for Adam Sandler movies. I can't pretend to have understood or enjoyed this movie.

It goes by fairly quickly so it's only a small waste of time and for you it may be life changing. Who knows? Certainly not me.
