Wow. Superman (2025) is not just a great superhero movie - it's the best Superman film ever made.
As someone who genuinely enjoyed Man of Steel and still thinks Henry Cavill was a fantastic Superman, I was skeptical going into this. But James Gunn completely blew me away. This film strikes the perfect balance between heart, action, and just the right amount of humor. It's clear Gunn understands the character on a fundamental level - this is Superman as he was meant to be: hopeful, heroic, and human.
I've never really connected with the Christopher Reeve films (yes, I know that's blasphemy to some), and while Brandon Routh's version was okay, it didn't leave a lasting impression. But this? This film redefines Superman for a new generation without losing what makes him iconic. It's vibrant, it's emotionally grounded, and above all - it's fun.
The tone is refreshing and optimistic without being cheesy, and the world it builds feels alive with possibility. It's also a huge relief to finally step away from the mess that was the DC Extended Universe. That whole chapter felt like a misfire, but Superman (2025) is a clean slate with a genuinely promising start.
If this is the beginning of the new DC Universe, then we're in good hands. James Gunn knows exactly what he's doing.

Overhyped, dull, and painfully unoriginal. Avatar is basically FernGully or Pocahontas with a billion-dollar CGI filter. James Cameron might've created a visual spectacle, but it's all style and zero substance. The characters are flat, the dialogue is cringe, and the plot is so predictable it feels like a parody. For a movie that broke box office records, it's shockingly boring. Watching blue aliens prance around for nearly 3 hours felt more like a chore than a cinematic experience. Easily one of the most overrated movies of all time. And we're gonna get three more movies of these!!! Haven't watched any of the sequels and NEVER WILL!
