When the original Jurassic Park opened, I took my young kids on the day it was released. Today I took my grandkids on the day THIS movie was released! We absolutely loved it. The special effects were great and the plot moved quickly. It was nice to have moral issues in question to discuss later and characters willing to risk their lives for others. Nothing will ever match the original but glad to see the franchise back on track.
I thought the acting was fine and they did a great job casting across demographics. Sure, there are plenty of similar predicaments and allusions to the original (and to another Spielberg movie!) but it's fun to know we are sharing those same memories with the rest of the audience.
And when that original theme music swells ... well, that's worth the movie ticket price alone.

Well of course it's silly, the plot a bit ridiculous, some shocking scenes, and some goofy overacting - but that just means it falls in line with the original "A Simple Favor."
I just loved "A Simple Favor" so was worried that the sequel might be a disappointment. The beginning didn't have quite the same quality as the original and it took a while to grab me. But once it did I found this movie quite the roller coaster and enjoyed it right up until the twisty end. The scenery and costumes are gorgeous, and the acting is excellent from the stars and fun and campy from the supporting cast. As a streaming sequel, it exceeded my expectations. I'm glad I stuck with it and look forward to another continuation of this crazy story.

I actually found this movie quite charming and thoughtful. I think it might appeal more to an older audience; as I age, I find myself thinking more about time and that kind of magical presence of the people and stories that came before us. I didn't mind the different moving plot lines in and out of time. Each story was sweet and not terribly dramatic. This is a calm movie with mostly kind and sympathetic characters.
It was a little difficult to suspend disbelief that the "stars" of the movie start off as teenagers. Although the technology is pretty amazing visually, their voices give away their true age.
The music is beautiful. It's refreshing to see a movie that's super clean and sweet, no violence or mean characters. Just an interesting movie about believable people who occupy the same space over time. We don't see that very often these days.
