I can not find the words to describe my feelings after watching this documentary but I am going to try because words are important. I think she might have the words that I am missing. I never read any of her work but now I just have to. As someone who experienced grief I want to know more about what she has to say about it.
The title refers to her personal life as well as to her reception of the world around her. Observing, describing and trying to understand what is happening. She seems like a person who thinks first and then talks or rather writes and when she does, it is powerful.
This documentary is made by her nephew and you can feel the love and admiration. I had it on my watchlist for quite some time now, waiting for the right moment, just because I am a reader and therefore interested in writers lifes.
Now I found out she died in 2021. But her words still remain and I am eager to lern more about her experience.

Now I have to write a review, don't have to, but i want to, because the movie touched me. Touched my memories about my own mother and touched my fears about becoming a mother. What if you are not there for them enough? What if they will grow up and hate you for that? What if you cannot handle it? The answer is maybe, yes they will love you and hate you and yes, you will not be able to handle it. Even more so, this will just happen (hopefully) for the right reasons. You just have to live with that. No matter who you are. You will have to deal with the same problems. Being a mother, but of course still being a person. That was beautifully portrayed and I just love Olivia Colman. What can I say, watch the movie and let yourself be touched by it.
Thank you Netflix! This is very interesting because we can not judge ourselves right now apparently. But you opened up the discussion. I simply do not know when he or she is acting. It will become a matter off court records. Maybe future generations with a (hopefully) more "objective" view will know better. I do not know. I can only make my statement right here that I did not know that this was so important to people. I cared much more about what was going on in Ukraine and Russia, Afghanistan, Syria and so on. But yeah, I had my fair share of "what about mans rights?" and I think there are abusers hiding behind that. On the other hand, of course there will be women lying about their abuse. I simply do not know what is the case right here and I it frightens me that public opinion is there to decide. I feel the "A" on my arm. For what it it stands, you have already made your decission. In either case, I think that is not ok because you do not know everything and you are not the the one to decide.
