If you are into codependency, are codependent, or want to learn about what it looks like, this is the show for you.
The same story told episode after episode. Bumbling hollywoood executives kissing everyone's ass because they're afraid of not being liked. I guess if you're part of an industry that is superficial, it would make sense. But, if you're living outside of that bubble, then it's just watching codependent people doing the same behaviors over and over expecting different results. Which equates to insanity. In Hollywood, it's apparently not much of a stretch.
Ho-hum.
No wonder the actors and writers are worried about AI. This show is proof of why.

Let me start with - for the folks p*ssing and moaning about the ending, for literal chr*sts sake, did you miss the entire point or what?
:insert face palm here:
For those that can actually follow along and handle the ending (ie possess the ability to think critically) this film - in its entirety - is certainly worth a view.
No doubt it'll be Oscar bound. It has all the right ingredients; top notch acting, beautiful cinematography, focused directing, great sound, and flawless editing! The whole film crew delivers an absolute masterpiece.
In particular, the acting was STELLAR. Every actor, no matter how small or large a role they played, delivered a superb performance. (It's a shame that the Casting Category for the Oscars won't be introduced until 2026. This film could've been the first award won in that soon to be category.)
When you get the chance to view this film, don't miss it.

This film is a perfect example of why, in the hypothetical question directed at women, "alone in the woods, would you rather come across a bear, or a man?" The majority of women will consistently choose the bear.
I thought this movie did a decent job at portraying the way women have to navigate this patriarchal world. (That may be too big a concept for those with small minds, I get it) The line in the movie, "men are babies" really should be changed to the more accurate line, "men are extremely fragile". And I'm talking porcelain doll kinda fragile. God forbid they FEEL cracks in their porcelain - especially by the words and/or actions of a woman. And This is where the fragile guys stop reading. Or angrily leave a 1 star or give a poor review themselves. That's ok little babies - go cry.
Artistically, Kendrick did a great job in her directorial debut. The cinematography was above average, and the acting was solid. (I do however think the screenwriter should've included some of the earlier crimes this evil waste committed - like kidnapping an 8 yr old girl who spent months in a coma due to him beating her with a lead pipe after committing horrific acts of CSA. This waste of a human preyed on female children, not just female adults. And the fact that he was able to continue only shows how the US Justice system fails - time and time again - to protect us.
It's nice to see a film tackle some of the problems a patriarchal society creates. Silence = death.
Btw, for the men who aren't fragile and were able to finish reading this review - kudos. Now IRL - take notice, stand up, use your voice, and do your part. As I'm sure you know, respect and integrity go a long way. (And that's especially true if you want to see the answer to that hypothetical question change some day.)
