Robert Altman is a first ballot Hall of Famer. No doubt about it. Altman may not have the greatest batting average but when he was on his game, very few were better. Writer/director/producer Altman was on his game with "3 Women". It's funny, sad, uncomfortable and you can't take your eyes off the screen.
Hulk Hogan does a passable job in "Suburban Commando". His supporting cast is hit or miss with the standout being Larry Miller. Miller gets most of the laughs in this movie. "Suburban Commando" wore out its welcome after a while. The 1990's were the glory days of live action family movies. "Suburban Commando" does not rank among the best of that era.
I am a big fan of John Wayne and his films. I watch his movies all of the time. For some reason "Angel and the Badman" is not one of my go-to Duke movies. Once I put it on, I enjoy it. Duke is in fine form and Gail Russell is very likeable. The rest of the supporting cast is also very good. The only demerit "Angel and the Badman" gets has to do with its low budget. If John Wayne and company had a little more movie to work with, "Angel and the Badman" would have been a better movie. As it is, it's still a good movie.
