This movie is one of a couple that should be seen in western society after learning the facts of WW2. It in my opinion gives an impression facts alone cannot. It is a light version of the impressions you get walking through the remains of concentrationcamps seeing pictures and video of what happened there.
It has the systematic side, it shows what propaganda can do and the horrors it hid and twisted. It has been good they showed these horrors. I would say they stayed on the safe side in matter of quantity of horrors shown and time inbetween as to not traumatize the viewers. But still hit them with the image of true evil.
Those movies I mentioned before should be this, Schindlers list and a movie about Aktion T4.

It is not a mainstream movie.
It is inbetween mainstream and arthouse.
It has a lot of referencing. But also many layers that make it watchable for all. It for certain is a movie with amazing actors and stunning visuals. A beautiful mixture of cultures acient and new. A hint of shakespear here and a ton of fantasy there. It is a journey through the imaginative world of a creative and insipred mind.
Now I will not say it is perfect. Nor that it is everyones cup of tea. Even more difficult is that those that love the fantasy side will dislike some parts that feel too real. And those who like mainstream will dislike the alien feeling parts. It is a journey through a nice fantasy world with many points of recognition. You have to let yourself be open to it.
One important thing for this, is that you have to want to watch a movie. That you are in that calm state one needs to have for a book to really let ones own imagination make it even more than it is.
In that state without distration you can enjoy being in awe.
