I watched this movie when I was a child on TV and I rewatched it now, I think it's wonderful, everything is exactly how I imagined when I was reading the book I'm glad they stuck to the book and like someone said here I don't complain it's too long I wanna see it over and over again. The characters are portrayed very well but most of all I liked Georgi Taratorkin as Raskolnikov. I saw he's even born in Saint Petersburg exactly like the main character he's playing. I didn't see other adaptations even if they are many as I heard because I can imagine how they are... c'mon if you wanna see this you gotta see it made by Russians and in Russian language, it's their territory all the way... (by the way I spent a lot of time translating the subtitles cause the ones I found were very bad but I enjoyed it and it worth every minute) I would like to say more but I want to see it again which I advise you to do it too, bye.

I admire the courage of this movie's director for making such a great attempt to ridicule all the big mafia and the corruption among the nowadays politicians of Romania. Although they say at the beginning of the movie that all the characters are fictitious, the story is clearly referring to one big business-man who was arrested for corruption not too long ago in our country. Even the name of the character is very resembling... Who lives in Romania now knows what I mean and I think that his movie is good just for this courage of showing the "clever guys" which all should be busted in no time if a really justice would be made. I'm still waiting for that moment... :) So, well, the movie seemed quite short they could have made it longer but even so, I was pleasantly surprised by this and I think all our politicians should see this and recognize themselves in it. I hope many movies like this will be produced. I highly recommend it.

I have seen the movie, and I think it's the renaissance of the Romanian cinematography. I liked it, I've always liked the aristocrat movies, and I think the director Sergiu Nicolaescu has proved once more that he is the most famous Romanian movie director ever. The Romanian cinematography has had a crack-up after the 1989-revolution which demolished communism, but now I think it started to come back again. It was a very nice surprise watching this movie and it gave me confidence for the future Romanian movies. I want to invite everyone to see it and then judge. I felt very sorry seeing some negative comments from some users, and mostly because they were Romanians... It's strange how some people like to pull down every good thing which happens in this country...
