An uplifting movie that shows how Europeans treat Arabs in a devaluing way. The movie is about debauchery, disrespect, betrayal, materialism, lack of empathy, shallow characters, and a man who doesn't get along with them.
The characters believe that some Moroccans are terrorists even though they love tourism in Morocco because it is a unique and warm country with hospitable people. It is a paradox and it shows how shallow tourists treat local people in the destinations they go to like India or Africa, it is mostly condescending.
However the plot in this movie lacks clarity in the conversations between people, I couldn't understand why they are celebrating and why someone is an alcoholic.
The characters believe that some Moroccans are terrorists even though they love tourism in Morocco because it is a unique and warm country with hospitable people. We live in a harsh world, and the distance between human and beast is very small, to the point that any one of us could become either the victim or the murder.
I still don't understand why Jacob got arrested for a car accident under alcohol influence....
However, good acting and the film can convey how life in prisons could be and how far prisoners can go to protect themselves and overcome the long time there.
"The beasts would eat you if you don't like they act them" could be one of the messages of 'Shot Caller'.
On the other side, there are weak points in the plot and probably this is why the film didn't get any awards.

I was born in Syria and went through war and seeking refugee in 2012 - There were snipers, and very disturbing situations such as a group of dead bodies buried in one place. While I was Watching it, I thought about the torture of prisoners, the corruption and how evil man can become.
This movie reminds you War is hell and it should be avoided to prevent generations from trauma and pain.
