I went to see The Last Showgirl this afternoon. Thankfully it was a short film. I thought the fad of handheld shaky super close up films had passed, but no. There were many long lingering shots of the beautiful backgrounds of Las Vegas that would zoom in on a wistful or smiling Pamela Anderson as she pondered her fate. If these had been cut out the film would have been a good 20 minutes shorter. The acting was pretty good as a whole with a terrific supporting cast. It was just a shame that several of the characters were self absorbed, didn't take thier action towards other into consideration and quite unlikable. Also, spoiler that isn't a spoiler, when Jamie Lee Curtis (who had left the dance show many years previous due to her age) danced, it was easy to see why she was fired. The woman is a terrific actor, but she cant dance. I did appreciate that she had gone to MAGA's stylist for her tan.

I was a overall disapointed. And a little bored. I would have rather sat through 80 minutes of bad 'Showgirl dancing'. The outfits were impressive.
