There seems to be very mixed feelings about this series. Love it or hate it.

Well I am neither.

It was decent enough but there were no tears shed and this is from a man with children the same age who since having kids has become emotional and do cry at films.

If it wasn't for everyone telling me to watch it I would have given up after episode one. Quite frankly, it was boring. However, it did get better. The subject got more interesting and you were waiting for it to develop. Here lies the problem. It didn't.

It didn't explore the themes enough, we never find out what actually happened and there's no sentencing. As a parent I should be abhorred and reacting to the content with shock and disgrace wanting to protect my kids but there was nothing to get excited about. I didn't care. If anything, although episode one was boring it felt more real whereas after it was just a story. I'm not sure if you are supposed to feel sorry for the boy. I didn't, he was nasty and deserved it. This argument of us or the online influences raising toxic masculinity is just nonsense.

I did feel sorry for the dad and could see myself similarly. This could have been so much bigger and better if it explored the themes and characters more, maybe with a little twist. Even seeing familiar actors couldn't redeem it. It was so grim, I was even expecting a worse ending.

Not for me. A wasted opportunity to make something good, something important. I was let down.

Horrendous and beautiful all at once.

We have seen so many programmes and learnt so much about Auschwitz and the horrors that occurred under the Nazi regime, but you cannot truly imagine what it was like to live through this.

This programme shows this all excellently but it also shows a side that we have not seen. There is a human side to this story, the comradarie and the survival instincts as the prisoners help each other survive the best they could.

The other side we have never seen before is the love story. The relationship between Lali and Gita. That's the beautiful part to see and that's what makes this different and so special.

I have never read the book but did visit Auschwitz recently. This truly gives you a much better understanding more than any documentaries, but I do now plan to read the book.

All the actors are fantastic especially Keitel and it's a pleasure to watch Jonas Nay, a truly remarkable actor even playing such a despicable character. I feel we have not seen the best of him yet and should be destined for much bigger things.

This is essential viewing , giving a human side to a tragic episode in history and would be an Ideal introduction for anyone not familiar with the subject and because of the underlying story, perhaps even more emotional.

Sex, drugs, violence and swearing, and I love it.

A fast paced and energetic biopic that gets straight to the action form the start.

Played by the band members themselves and loosely based on actual events. DJ Provai was a school teacher who wore a balaclava as a disguise and did expose his backside with Brits out emblazoned across it.

The music is superb and just like french hip hop, you don't need to speak the language to enjoy it. Regardless of religion or politics, this is a film to be enjoyed by all with some historical accuracy thrown in for good measure, and most importantly the two fingers up to authority.
