I saw this with the wish of showing it to my kids, now of age to understand the idea of history, and which deeply believe in the idea of Romanian culture.

But what I found is not even subject to line the garbage bin of history, it utter trash, an invention using names from history, some semblance of facts, but the historical models served here, come into the communist fallacy of Romanian history, both plastic production, and a simplification of the realities.

There are no facts here, just an agitprop agenda on how to create figure heads for a Romanian history, even before the term Romania meant current Romania, rather at the time standing for what is today Byzantine empire, mostly Greek speaking, but believing to be Romans.

Enough about the plot. The characters are just 2D, to deliver punchlines and disappear, the dialogues are poor, the language is current Romanian (not historical), to the point that almost everything comes across as farcical.

I strongly recommend skipping over.

After a bad start I watched to see how low it can go. It went deep down. Cheap to the point of seeming like the bad ads on toothpaste, excepting the jokes. The jokes were something else, they were so poor, not related to the story, not time relevant.

Shall we talk about the story? Or the lack of? Maybe a sentence about the characters, which seem to have been designed by the below average taxi driver in a tertiary town, with so thin background, that one would achieve more in a 30 seconds advertisement. Horrid.

Anything about the costumes? Whoaaa, those were inappropriate to a degree not seen previously. But with some aerials from other countries, at least the decor was not bad, giving Bucharest a good show. But that is also irrelevant, as one could not get rid of the actors and the story to get something valuable.

As the last nail in the coffin, I need to mention the music, which is needs to be taken down completely. Not saying that all of it is bad, although most of it is, but inappropriate.

Nothing about the story, the dialogues, or the scenes. There is nothing to be said about it.

They made a movie. First it starts, then it goes on for some time, after a while it ends. That's pretty much the summary of this production.

Just to say what is wrong with the movie, it would be longer than the movie, which is anyway too long, loose, boring, pointless and multi focal point, and to agree that there would be a great potential to it, it is given. But the choice of the director was very poor, the results are so forgettable, and although one can see the aim of it, as a condemnation of certain parts of the society, the means to deliver are that of a second grader.

No need to see this, unless you're part of the cast's families.

Such wasted potential.
