Can someone tell me the point of the story?

Is it about Vampires?

Is it about blues music?

What's the music has to do with it?

And why they spend half the movie singing?

Is it a musical?

What is this?

I don't get the movie hype.

There's no story. It's people trapped in a bar at night surrounded by vampires that are obsessed with blues music for some reason.

More than an hour goes by where nothing interesting happens. No action no drama no nothing.

Then it's like 40min musical for some reason Then it's meh action for the last 20min. At which point I didn't really care who lived or died. I just didn't. Everything is set up so poorly that it's hard to care about the characters.

All the wait for this?

Look. DOT wasn't cinema master class it was basically a Heat carbon copy. But it felt like the sequel we never had (at that time) the action was top notch and the cast had great chemistry.

The shootouts and the sound design (again ripped straight from Heat) was soooo goood.

This however felt like a straight to DVD type of sequels. It was so boring, the story so bad, the build up to the heist was and the heist itself were so poorly done. And the shootouts and the sound design which made DOT1 so great all gone.

Now we got this generic action movie or should I say "action" because nothing happens in this movie. It's just people meeting in places.

The acting is terrible. Gerrard Butler is the only one who's trying. The rest of the cast are bunch feel like they should be background extras in a porno movie. Zero chemistry between the cast.

And after all this they have the audacity to hint at a 3rd movie.

Listen bring everyone who worked on the first movie or don't even bother.

It's a fun movie for the kids for sure. Not so much for the grown ups. You'll get a good chuckle here and there but nothing more than that. The story is too simple to have any depth. The title of the movie says it all. There wasn't any heart warming message or a moment. The movie is also too short for character development. What you see from those characters in first scene is what you get in the last scene.

Gwen was the only highlight from the movie. They'll have a fun time milking that character and I'm all for it. Gwen is sooo cute.

Also Keegan Michael is awesome. Is there any ethnic character this man cannot do?

TLDR: Fun for kids, good enough for grown ups, and Gwen is too cute.
