Too many years after, the technology offers immnense ways of fabricating wonderfull images -at first look- but totally artificial and boring when faced to for 2 hours . Boats, Cities, Fortresses are too clean too neat too HDR to be true; At the same time poor Connie has taken 30 years in a decade and look Roman as I look Martian. And our gladiator is just plain and ugly not to say vulgar.

After a reasonably good start Mr Laffitte, excellent actor falls into a pit of shameful disgrace. Atrocious manipulation of an elderly woman, ugly nudes scenes, mediocrity at its worst.

The original french movie was a real delight, a little gem of a feel good movie.
This redo is terrible, casting is pathetic, the side stories brought into the script just don't float, the rythm which is supposed to come from an agressive editing with cars, streets, building is just desperate.
