Valutazione di DangerManTX
Well I am annoyed. Just watched the movie, and what was a pretty good film had a really crappy ending. Toni is a real hypocrite and total bitch in the movie, you really want her utter snobbery to be her undoing. Problem with trying to make a movie like French Cinema, is that it is unsatisfying for an American audience. The ending is plain bad. I gave the movie a 6/10, that seems fair to me, since it goes nowhere and the ending is just not good. Really annoys me to see a good movie end so badly. Worth watching for Harvey Keitel, but I totally hated the character Toni Collete is playing, she is without mercy and an utter snob. Ironic that she claims to be a Democrat in the movie. The Director should have delivered a better ending. Can't believe that's it.
After the writers strike, this show has just not shown any real consistence of quality. The worst episode to date was The Loobenfeld Decay.
The show now lasts about 20 minutes or less, and gives the feeling of being badly produced. The sets are the same as ever, the apartment, the landing... This is just not good enough for an 8 pm slot. I doubt it will make it to a third season.
The character of Penny has changed, and oddly enough looks less interesting. Wolowitz and Koothrapalli in episode 11 play virtually no part at all in the show. A quite miss-able episode.

It just goes to show that sometimes you shouldn't read other people's reviews before going to see a film you like the look of. I read some reviews yesterday that weren't that great, so went in expecting something less than excellent. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the movie and cannot agree with the critics whom I had read. I felt the pace was just right and it all adds to the build up of the last few dramatic minutes. Gena Rowlands is very sinister in the role of Violet. John Hurt (I'm a lifelong fan of the man, his 1970's portrayal of Caligula still makes me marvel) so such a shame to see an actor of his class just lie there and gurgle, but however a pleasure as always to see him. I wonder if there were any cut scenes involving John? Good plot and just when you think you've guessed what's going on and see the twist coming, surprise! The movie all makes sense later when you think back on all the past events.
