It's pretty good but it seems to take itself way too seriously, if that makes any sense. Obviously it's a serious story but it has gritty earnestness seeping through to the point of being annoying. Does anybody else see this; primarily with British shows of high intensity drama? They always give me the impression that Britain (or more precisely, England) has become an absolute dump. Nobody is happy, everybody is angry, no joy, no sense of purpose. Just an endless quest to prevent society slipping even more into hopelessness.
America makes gritty, serious, 'difficult' shows too but I don't get that same lack of hope applying to an entire nation from their shows. Why is this?
Besides that, the one shot used throughout a whole episode is extremely impressive, but what's the point? It doesn't make for a better viewer experience. In fact, I find it kind of distracting. I'm always looking for a kid laughing in the background or something.
I'll keep watching though! It's a decent show.

I love seeing sites today that used to be something else. I even love those postcard displays on YouTube that show a photo of a resort how it looked in the sixties, and how it looks today. So interesting.
This show however was absolute nonsense. Such a yawnfest. Way too many 'experts' spouting profoundly uninteresting drivel every minute. Almost no footage or even photos of what the sites used to look like in their heyday. In episode one, we even had one of these historians saying they could see how cool it would be to have the abandoned water park used for off-road racing. What are the historians there for? I believe shows like this are made with the expectation that absolutely nobody is going to watch them, or pay any attention. Why are they made? It's certainly not for informing an audience.

I find these kinds of movie very interesting. A real life docu-drama about a recent event. Especially when it's to do with the financial markets and market manipulation. The thing I always learn is that we, the little people, don't know anything
But two things I didn't like about this movie. Firstly, there wasn't really much of a story there to make a full movie; even a relatively short one. You got no sense of how the shorting really works, and the rest was just reporting on a bunch of normal people buying stock, and waiting.
Secondly, why the horrible lowest common denominator with music and language? I don't mind bad language but why so much, and why are we listening to WAP - probably the most disgusting well known song ever released. Are all 'young people' this unpleasant? Do they all scream obscenities whenever they feel like it, listen to bad music with disgusting lyrics, and basically have no soul or 'warmth'?
Truly depressing, if that's the generation of the future. More likely, the filmmakers think this is needed to get an audience.
