This was the first time I've seen Kieran Culkin in a movie, and I really enjoyed his portrayal of the character. His performance was so natural and he interacted seamlessly with the other characters. Jesse Eisenberg was great too, albeit different; he supported Kieran's character so well.
The film was easy to watch, with a pleasant story that provided a light and respectful portrayal of Prague. The story was an irregular, non-invasive family interaction that felt oddly relatable. The humour was light and touching.
The supporting characters, including the tour guide and the Rwandan, contributed excellently to the film. The music was beautifully arranged and interesting.
It was a nice feel good movie that entertained and featured wonderful backdrops of untraveled but interesting rural parts of Poland. It was a charming movie, without a huge fanfare or hype. The movie snuck into the lineup but deservingly so.
Almost a hidden gem and a real treat.

A standout entry in the body horror genre, The Substance delivers an unsettling and unique narrative that lingers long after the credits roll. With strong performances, particularly from its female leads, the film cleverly explores society's obsession with youth and beauty, delving into the extremes some may go to for perfection. Its disturbing plot, driven by addiction and vanity, is as thought-provoking as it is haunting.
Though the climactic final scene leans into over the top theatrics, it doesn't detract from the film's overall impact. The strong acting anchors the story, and with the gruesome the sound and effects, making The Substance a notable watch.

I went into *Beetlejuice* with no expectations, completely blind to any reviews or impressions. At first, I wasn't connecting with the initial jokes and humor, but once settled in, I remained pleasantly entertained throughout.
The film's strengths lie in its characters, Tim Burton's unique art and character design, and the music that helped build the atmosphere. The humour gradually grew on me, not laugh-out-loud, but a nice, easy going style.
The storyline was straightforward and immersive. This was the first time I'd seen Jenna Ortega in a role, and I thought she delivered a strong performance. While a bit more Beetlejuice could have been nice, there was such a rich array of characters that it didn't feel like a negative. I especially loved Willem Dafoe's character-very entertaining and fun to watch.
The set design and world-building were fantastic, especially on the "other side." The soul train scene was particularly fun and felt perfectly suited to the overall vibe.
There were a couple of minor drawbacks: one of the songs dragged on a bit, and the scene where Delores puts herself together probably went a little too long.
Overall, it was a fun and surprisingly entertaining film. It was so cool to be immersed in such a whacky, artistic world.
Definitely a nice movie to unwind with.
