So, I'm having fun watching this show with my wife. That said, it's mostly because it is light and we laugh at some of the cheesiness and plot holes. It feels like a Dexter clone with less story telling. There are so many times that we look at each other and say, "Why would be do that?" Or "That seems out of character" or even "That definitely wouldn't have happened - they just needed a conflict". The writing is a bit lazy and Season 2 is full of funny characters that are a BIT too cliche. That said, it's fun if you don't want to think too much and want a few tense moments filled with a lot of eye rolling moments. Nothing groundbreaking here but it's watchable.
I just wrote a review on "D@bbe: The Possession" and thought I'd follow it up with one on this title as well. I was a little put off by the obviously fake reviews on here but decided to check these movies out on Netflix and glad I did. Demons scare the hell out of me, so these movies definitely had me jumping at times. These movies touch on "evil" in ways that hit a nerve with me - maybe because I'm a Christian? I'm not sure, but this director does a great job with making me uneasy. For some reason, the movies remind me of "Phantasm". They are a little campy, some weird directing choices, and have an "Indie" feel to them, but I still really enjoyed them. Onto "D@bbe 6"! Hoping it's as good as the other two...
So... I'm pretty sure some of these reviews are totally bogus but I decided to watch this on Netflix anyways. I'm glad I did - this movie was a fun ride. It's not perfect, the director does some weird "buzzing camera" thing that can get annoying but I had a lot more fun watching this than most of the horror I've watched recently. Just finished "D@bbe 5" and had fun with that one, too. For some reason, they remind me of "Phantasm". A little campy, sometimes cheesy, but a memorable ride. Probably more like a 7.5 or 8/10 but I upped it as I believe it deserves a solid score. Well done!
