NOW is the time to watch this movie. It's SCARIly prophetic...the movie 'takes place' in 2027...close enough... the last review, before this one, is from fourteen months ago. They thought it was 'relevant' then...i wish i could know what they're thinking NOW, this short time later... and yeah, i gave it all points because i didn't see ANYthing 'wrong' with this movie...i'm not going to go on and on about the different aspects/layers of filmmaking and how each is SO well done...the last reviewer said, 'the director(Cuaron) should've one(sic) an academy award...EYE think they should give him an award for a new category...'visionary storytelling', considering it was made almost twenty years ago...if you're reading this and HAVEn't seen the movie yet? It's brutal but WELL worth the journey... i'd already seen it, but...read an article about Hunnam(whom i didn't know when i first saw it, around 10 years after the movie was released. But do now) and i thought it was a different movie than the 'children of men' that i HAD seen...so i just watched it aGAIN...and it was the same movie and SO much more relevant to a LOT of what's happening now...so i got reeeeeeeal lucky.

Now to read the book it came from x p.d. James...

I have to disagree with the rating here. It IS understandable...the 'why' of it...but to reveal this would be a spoiler, in my opinion, so i'll have to keep that to myself... other than THAT, i don't understand what the problem/s was/were for people...it was your basic, 'there can be only a few', immortal stories... i think one(or maybe more) commented on this sequel being inconsistent with the first? I don't remember...but on its own i think it does really well as an action/adventure venture...the acting was very good, cinematography, editing, fight scenes...and i liked the story, as well...i would probably give it a 7.6, if that were possible...because it lacked in originality... but the execution(no pun intended) more than made up for that.

I saw this a while ago...must be at least four years... but i shined it on when it was first in the theaters, thinking it was probably just a money grab for the Star Wars franchise and nothing more. Not to be taken seriously... and man, was EYE ever wrong... first, as i'm sure a number of reviewers may have remarked, it forms a perfect bridge, connecting Andor(the recently ending mini series) to THIS movie and, of course, THIS movie to the first(real time chronology) Star Wars... but it's also a REALly good movie on MANY levels...and everyone has brought their A game...from the producers to the director to the actors to the technicians... i mean EVERYone...because it keeps on being entertaining... i'm glad i watched it a second time...i've got the whole story now...bravo for doing this last part(including the Andor series) so well...
