And that's why we should really do better background checks....
Had its moments but really wish it was a bit funnier in the first half. Takes so long to get going to anything you don't already have spoiled for you in the trailer, and really no memorable jokes or funny moments during the 30 minutes of set up for the film.
It's a funny enough premise and the final act was enjoyable as a what else could possibly go wrong sentimentality, but I just left wanting more.
If you are a Nick Kroll fan, you may still enjoy, but I think you'll find much better comedies and horror films (if I'd even really call it that) this year for sure.

As a dog lover, I can't say I expected to be semi bored by a dogumentary but there were parts of this that really dragged. It's a cool story and he was able to give some unique experiences to his best friend and pup, but overall not as exciting, moving or meaningful enough for me to recommend to others. Kudos to the guy for raising money to have a trip he will never forget with his dog and for being a first time documentarian, but just nothing special. Maybe I just had too high of expectations after watching the trailer, but alas.
If you are a huge dog lover, you may still enjoy, but keep expectations in check.

This horror classic is more of a thriller than the rest of the franchise with the killer not being shown on screen for most of the film. The suspense built up from the ominous music combined with the first person video angles really stand out as quality film making that is enjoyable each rewatch. Even with the twist being known at the end of the film on each rewatch, I appreciate the simple plot points that are executed flawlessly and make for a perfect Halloween throw back. While some of the sequels don't hold up as well, I would highly recommend checking out this version over its more modern remake, which seems to emphasize gore and gruesome killing over the campy style thriller of its predecessor.
