I usually don't like watching dramas around this era as it touches on the sufferings and political tensions just before the Japanese occupation. But the good reviews attracted me and I gave it a try. The ML's acting and chemistry with the FL were the main factors that made me stay on to watch more episodes. Also the political plots were convincing and interesting. Each episode became a page turner. I like the comedy in the the drama too and the comedy was mainly from the Ml's acting and character. Glad that the FL has the wits the intelligence to match him. The series is actually quite a thriller too and has good twists and turns.

This is a series that is stellar and I will re-watch with no hesitation. The plot is well-thought and is interesting. It's fast paced like a thriller with the right dose of palace intrigues, fighting and a slow burn romance that goes through distrust, suspicions and finally a deep love. The execution by the cast is excellent especially from our FL and ML. The chemistry is perfect. The visuals and OST adds on to the enjoyment of each episode. It is done so perfectly well that I get the mood as the series unfolds from different modes of revenge, hopelessness, distrust, even funny moments and the visuals and OST takes us seamlessly into a simmering romance and unconditional love. The only one complaint I have is a rather rushed ending. I really didn't understand the rush. It didn't match the entire flow of the series but despite that I still score this series 10. It is a gem.

The series started very promising and has lots of funny moments. I like the ML's character and all the other cast but I don't know why the FL's character is done to be annoyingly naive and childish. The pairing of ML and FL felt a bit like big brother and little sister. I preserved to episode 15 but the FL's character does not change though there were times I thought she would improve and prove herself to be a good lawyer but this always proves wrong. The relationship between ML and Fl is not believable. Despite the funny moments, I couldn't watch this series any longer. In addition, there are just too many episodes. If it was 10 episodes shorter, I would have continued just for the comedy and for ML.
