There are 2 things about this movie that I like.
If it comes to putting slo-motion action scenes in movies, this movie is the TOP of the TOPS. Braveheart doesn't make it with this movie. The scene in the flower hill and the end scene are just my favorites of 2004. The soundtrack is amazing. Very exotic sounds, soothing and very soundtracky. Best soundtrack for 2004 for me.
There are 2 things I don't like
I don't understand one thing. One of the leading male character who was a member of the house of daggers said in the end of the movie that he had not had the time to be alone with the Mai and that he didn't knew she was coming to the castle (beginning scene). This is weird. He saw her in the beginning and he could have asked Mai about it. Weird. Conversations in the movie are too way typical. To normal for me I guess. Too American/Hollywood acting.

- bad leading male character in the beginning of the movie (conversations are too way long, scenes should have been cut earlier, remove unnecessary scenes, the kissing part is too long) - scenes in general are too long and some of them are unnecessary.

This one is classic. THis movie lead to lots of discussions about the way people were treating gypsies( Gitanos) in large cities of Spain. Lost of action going on in this movie, from selling drugs, murder, to racism and typical gypsy parties (rumba). The end shot is really melancholic. It is then when the famous soundtrack is heard. Some young gypsies (gitanos) driving in a car in search of their identity and better future.
If you talk about this movie, you talk about one of the soundtrack called 'Soy un Perro Callejero' which is today still one of the most beautiful gypsy song of the 80's.

In Spain this movie is considered a classic one (pulp movies). In Spanish media almost nothing has been done to explain the social difficulties the gypsies (gitanos) were dealing with in Madrid. THis movie was the start in a series of social GYPSie (gitano) movies.
This movie was the fire which was needed to produce other classics about crime and gitanos in MAdrid.
Movies which really hit the top charts were called: 'Perros callejeros' (1983) Yo, el Vaquilla' (1985).
These 2 movies can be seen as the the classic ones with amazing soundtracks from Los CHichos and Los CHunguitos who sing about racism, drugs, social issues and flamenco.
