I take back what I said on my review for episode five, seems like that episode was just one of the few good episodes that are an outlier in this series' list of episodes. We are back to mediocrity, with deep issues that are recurrent to more or less most episodes of the series. Once again there is repetitive scenes, dialogues that go for just too long with unnecessary, characters buttering each other up and the usual bad acting. Honestly, there was this one scene in the hospital that I thought "wow, that really was a badass moment," but then I started recreating the scene and how the character got there and it didn't make sense for that character. Sure, it was a cool moment, but it felt undeserving and it took me some processing to figure it out and not fall for the "here's an amazing scene." Other than that, all other scenes in this episode were so boring, they dragged, it would disappoint, but Stranger Things overall is like this, so when an episode like the fifth one comes out it really makes people excited, this one doesn't.
It surprised me how much I enjoyed this episode, note that this doesn't mean it is a perfect episode, some of the cast are really bad actors, some scenes are repetitive within the same episode let alone the season and even the series as a whole, but still, most of the writing done for this episode felt good to watch and I have to give it to them because this is probably, with all its flaws, my favourite episode of Stranger Things so far. I liked how they brought back the DnD elements, I liked the few good actors we have in this they were really good. I am not a fan of this show, but I reckon that they did something amazing for this episode and if the quality of the next two episode and the series finale stay like this I would be very much impressed.
Not a single review below 8? Are yall serious? This whole things feels like a parody, there is no way this was based on facts. Lets start with how our protagonist is a huge "pushover", he doesn't know how to do his job, his wife treats him like trash and he still has the same bully he did when he was in HS, but now his bully has both of his mild "slow learning" teen boys to tag along while he bullies a grown man that just stand there doing nothing? I'm not even criticising the actors, after all there is only so much they can do with flat and boring characters, a pathetic show.
