This movie isn't great but it's entertaining at times.
The plot isn't great so if you're a person that needs their movie to make sense the whole way through this isn't going to be the film for you. Some of the actors did a decent job but several performances weren't that good. The gore was good though. It was over the top, ridiculous and creative so if you're looking for a slasher that delivers that this movie might be for you.
The pacing of the movie is off imo and it doesn't build suspense very well. A few rewrites or different scene composition and this problem might've been fixed.
I'll still give this movie a 5/10 because it's fine for dumb fun and was entertaining enough for me.

The cinematography of this film is haunting and beautiful. Robert Eggers has really outdone himself with this movie. There's a number of shots in this movie that I can only describe as hauntingly beautiful.
The performances in this film are all solid. There's not one single actor who didn't deliver on a solid and fitting level. So far I've been impressed by Skarsgaard but this was without a doubt his best performance. Lily-Rose Depp delivered a great performance and stole the scenes she was in.
The movie completely captured the oldschool gothic tone that you would expect and I view this movie as an instant classic. More than 102 years after the original Nosferatur came out this movie is a fitting remake and I hope it will be remembered for decades as well.
