This episode is a political message from the liberal Hollywood agenda. The line between Jimmy Smits legal immigrant status and the illegals who came to this country is purposely mushmashed. Blurring the lines as to what illegals' rights are vs what a citizen's rights Gerry Cooney, a professional boxer well-known in the 80s gueststars as muscle for the badguy, and there is a decent fight scene. The rest is designed to make illegals seem like the victims rather than the criminals. Of course, the INS agent is also corrupt, because we need more weight against the law and Susan is really obtuse to the realities of immigration law.
I'm watching these in order, having just started, and got to this episode and had to write about it. It was pretty bad. A man is killed with a tomahawk (a hand axe!) and yet, there is no blood, no brain matter, and even when they move the body across the hall, it doesn't leave a mess.
Up until now, the murders have made sense. This time, it doesn't. People handle the amazingly clean axe, wish doesn't seem to have a trace of blood on it. This would be a grisly crime, but no one seems to be perterbed by it at all. Maybe the murderer used the flat side, andkilled the victim with a single shot to the temple.
Then, there is the Indian chief, Chief LackofTaste. Him sleep'm in teepee in room on floor. Him no use bed, but smoke'm pipe. You need the running water to wash this image out of your brain.
It's the 50s, so I take this murder and the terrible rendition of the Indian chief with the times, but it is still a poor episode of an otherwise fun show so far.

I love this movie. There is great action, just enough humor, and the sadness of seeing friends killed. The actors do a good job, and most of the 13 are all likable. The others are just not fleshed out enough to like or dislike..
The scene with the bowl is disgusting, and could have been skipped, and the "reforging/grinding" down of the broad sword to a scimitar is silly, but I have seen this movie many times, and I don't get the hate for it. If the production/release had been smoother, this movie may have done better at the box office. As it stands, it is a cult classic, and well worth the time spent watching.
