It's pretty obvious that all of the good reviews on here are either the people who made the movie, the actors that starred in the movie or relatives of both. The script is terrible and unrealistic. There's one character whose lines are just a constant stream of profanity and that alone distracts from everything he says and makes the pacing of the movie unwatchable. I literally turned off the sound and put subtitles on because I got sick of his constant ranting and swearing while everyone else just stands around not speaking. His character doesn't reflect well on the British. There are a few interesting concepts here and a better director with a better script could have done something with it, but as it is.......it's just a mess. I gave it two stars instead of one because it's short.
I went to see this on $5 Tuesday and glad I didn't pay more. I started nodding off about 10 minutes in, it's really boring with too much talk. Several years ago I told friends who love Jurassic Park movies that they're ALL the same. They all start with either a flashback scene or an exploratory one where someone gets eaten. Then they go to a long exposition where they introduce or catch up with characters, and then they have kids supposedly in danger (and NONE of them ever get eaten) and then the bad guys get eaten with the lead bad guy being the last one gobbled up. So what did we get here? A flashback scene where someone gets eaten, then a long exposition introducing characters and some side characters on a sinking boat. I recognized the guy from the Lincoln Lawyer (under a beard) so I knew he and his kids would all survive and wouldn't get eaten. As a side note Scarlett Johannson has a great figure, but she can't act let alone lead a movie. Then both groups get together (and what happened to Manuel Garcia-Rulfo's beard? It's just gone) and just like clockwork I knew who and when they'd get devoured until the last 15 minutes where a mutant cross between a beluga whale, a T-rex, the thing from Alien and Disney's Stitch (fresh from the new Superman movie) shows up to eat the really bad guy. No kids were harmed, the good guys all live, and it's the same old dreck. Catch it on streaming for the special effects but don't waste money in the theater.
I ran across this on Tubi and thought I'd give it a look. It's really bad, the acting, the writing, the costumes, it's just bad in every way. I can only guess that the good reviews here are all people associated with making the picture trying to keep its rating up. The actresses look uncomfortable when they show them kissing each other and trust me, that's all you're going to see is some kissing. For some reason it was rated TV-MA but that's totally fake because it's barely PG for some fake blood. There's a woman in it using a sword and it's painfully obvious that she has no training in actually using it, you can almost see her counting in her head....1.....2.....3.....4. I would tell the producers they wasted their $200 budget because it's unwatchable. I imagine it was filmed on an I-phone so their only cost was a fake sword and costumes from Goodwill and someone's S&M closet. Don't waste your time.
