I first have to say that Abraham looks great for a man of 120-130 years old in this film. The same can be said for Sarah at 110-120 years old. Even in the flashbacks to her at 90 years old she looks fantastic!
For me, the most powerful thing about Abraham being commanded to sacrifice Isaac as a burnt offering is the fact that Abram's own father, Terah, and the priest of Elkenah, tried to sacrifice Abram himself to a pagan god. In spite of his own terrifying experience, Abraham did as the Lord commanded without question or argument.
The filmmakers missed a huge opportunity by not portraying that story, and instead creating fictional events and situations that completely fell flat. Then, just to put the nail in the coffin, they threw in a short scene at the very end that is completely out of context.

Two minutes, eighteen seconds. That's the exact amount of time that I allowed this one to run before I shut it off. The effects and props look like the actors were in a museum that has an interactive exhibit. The limited amount of dialog that I sat through was totally amateur. I don't even want to waste the time required to see how they made this one stretch for 82 minutes. I have firearms in my home. I'm afraid I might end up putting a bullet into my own brain if I watch this. A few reviewers mentioned that this... "project" had a budget of $1.5 million. I'm thinking that they probably should have spent it on making this movie instead of leaving it in the bank or whatever they did with it. Saints and Soldiers had a budget of $1 million and it's actually a surprisingly good film and holds up against major studio films made with budgets 20 or 30 times bigger than that. (I'm not talking about the second and third installments of the Saints and Soldiers franchise. Those two films were very, very bad.)
