Hasta el Viento Tiene Miedo, show us the story of a group of young ladies, that as a punishment, they have to stay in the boarding school for vacations. The ghost of a death schoolmate makes her appearance to unwrap a story with the most pure terror style. The movie it's great and although it follows the typical pattern of movies made during those times, it stills being frightening. It also shows a great perspective of the Mexican society and with the scene of the striptease, I believe that it goes a little beyond the times when it was released. Whether you like Mexican movies or not this movie proves that although the lack of resources which it was made, at least we can say that we have a great horror ancient film, a genre that isn't common at all in this industry.
I was so happy of what i have heard from this movie, so i was pretty excited to go inside the cinema and finally watch Voces Inocentes. The story starts presenting us a poor family who lives in El Salvador during guerrilla, but it is telling us specially how kids live their homes for becoming army soldiers. Yeap, if someone was wondering it starts with a part of the end. The it flashback a year before, where Chava is eleven and in one year he will be taken for becoming a soldier. As the story follows, several moments happens in the kids life that are typical in a boy of his age, he fells in love, start a common job in a public bus, etc. All this could sound pretty interesting but the movie is awful, much of a movie are the actors performance which a director has to supervise and create them from nothing, here, you just don't notice any acting at all, the kids doesn't know how to fake they are crying, characters are plain, good or bad and it just stays in that mediocre tone the whole movie. I couldn't stand that almost accent that the mother wants to have, and the fat sister. As a summary of the summary, you are just waiting to watch the moment were everyones is sent to guerrilla an dead or a weapon of mass destruction who will carry all of this plane characters to garbage, were they belong.
