I just started watching this on Netflix. I was pretty much out of options while waiting for Wednesday Season 2 to start. I figured, what the heck, I'll give it a go.
Boy was I surprised.
Not surprised in the way I was when Wednesday season 1 dropped and proved to be amazing. Not surprised in the way I was when I first watch Stranger Things season 1 and was blown away. No, this was more like "how much more stupid can this get in only 45 minutes?"
The premise is X-files meets Criminal Minds. Now if they had Mulder and Scully.... maybe it would work. Instead they have Abbott and Costello, and maybe the Keystone Cops. Things that are supposed to be BIG CLUES are glossed over minimally until the last moment... when they are presented as so obvious you should have noticed them... but didn't cause you were trying to follow the dialogue instead.
This show needs a complete overhaul. Like a complete engine remake. The only reason to even continue is to see just how bad it might become.
I'm only in season 1 right now.... there's 10 seasons... so I have to hope that it somehow got better. I just hope that I don't die from boredom trying to get to the point where it does.

I don't know who's bright idea it was to garnish this alleged documentary with every sex-phone-call these two idiots engaged in, but it really shameful towards the director and Netflix for publishing this garbage.
I'm not a prude, but this tasteless trash is hardly entertaining and a sure waste of the money they invested into making it. Honestly, the director of this should be barred from ever making another documentary for his/her entire life. They honestly don't understand the medium.
I love crime dramas, and was really set to sit down and enjoy this. After 40 minutes I'd had enough and turned it off. I found better retellings of this story done by amateurs on YouTube. Save your time.... watch something else.

I only started watching My Hero Academia about 8 days ago. I tried watching it a few times in the past, but could never get past season 1, episode 3. I just found the show unrealistic and boring.
I bit my tongue and pushed through this time, though, and started liking what I saw. Then started loving it. Then.... started being amazed at just how good the show was, and understood then why there were 7 seasons and 4 movies. It makes sense now.
So I just finished season 5 (hated that season's opening theme song, by the way) and figured it a good time to jump to this movie. I was already chomping at the bit to see what was next with the Paranormal League.... and was completely unprepared for.... this.
I love the classmate dynamic that's been built up here. Having 20 heroes work together, learning, fighting, growing... is something I've missed. You see, I grew up on DC comics, more specifically 1970's Superboy & the Legion of Superheroes. The show is not that far off from Mike Grell & Dave Cockrum's Legion of my youth. And this show really captures the growing camaraderie and trust that a good team needs to become a GREAT team.
And this movie.... stands at the pinnacle of the series, giving characters great new dimensions and directions. Bakugo becomes "softer", Deku more steady and all the rest of the class shows such growth as well. It makes the series far more enjoyable as we see them shedding their youthfulness and becoming adults.
And I've only scratched the surface.... without giving anything away.
I recommend this, I HIGHLY recommend this... but only if you've started with S1,E1 and watched the show as a whole. It adds a richness and depth that is breathtaking, once taken in it's entirety. MHA may not top my list for best Anime (Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, Frieren, Nausicaa.... and Fullmetal are my top 5) but it sure hits close to the mark... and this movie almost pushes it into the top 5 for sure.
Seriously, if you're reading this and you haven't watched the rest of MHA, do yourself a favor... give yourself a treat... find the time to binge and accept the flaws it has at the beginning... cause by the time you get here.... you'll be laughing, crying, cheering and shouting... and sometimes all at once.
It's really that good.
