I have to say, this show really took me by surprise. I was never a huge fan of the game so there wasn't any nostalgia for the IP. After watching the first episode on a whim, I was really hooked. The action is tight and engaging, it is full of fun and bloody gore, nothing gross but definitely interesting. The story is pretty grounded and that is balanced really well with the whacky characters and their antics. What really drives the show besides the fun action and car chases is the acting. Mackie and Beatriz have great chemistry together and play off each other really well. Surprise stand out was the combination of Arnett and Samseon , playing Sweet Tooth. Do yourself a favor and check this out.
Just watched Superman on opening night at the IMAX. From tge very beginning I could tell I was going to love this movie. Very little hand holding, a quick text intro about his origin and then we are into the action right away. A small ball of white fluffy action. Superman had everything i have always wanted to see in a Superman movie. It was sincere, earnest hopeful and had a lot of heart. This movie was also filled with a bunch of weird comics book stuff, which I can totally see turning some people off, but I was 100% on board for all of it. The acting was good, the action and fight scenes were well shot, and the world felt really fleshed out. Nicholas Hoult was a great Lex Luthor, and it was really easy to hate the character. Lois and Clark's relationship was sweet and I was invested in it. The side characters all fot the story well, especially Mr. Terrific. This movie was also cheesy as hell, but in a really good James Gunn kinda way. And of course Krypto stole the show! You could easily make the argument that this was a Krypto movie, with Superman showing up every now and then. Overall just brilliant in my opinion and I can't wait to watch it again.
I have always liked this episode but on a recent rewatch I just discovered so many little intricacies in the episode that just made me so happy and bust out laughing. Gayle and her cats are one of my favorite recurring characters, and it was nice to see her relationship with the kids, and how she is the one that ends up giving Louise the courage to go back to the dentist. Stand out moments for me in this episode were many but here are a few of them. When Dr. Yap tells Bob that he doesn't want to go back to fill Louise's cavity. Whem Linds mentions they have a person on the inside and she gets a text from Tina. Tina, you're daughter. Tina. So many more stand out moments but my favorite for some reason is when Linda says she should write a parenting book called "Hey you! I saw that! Put it back!".
