Well the cinematography is good. We can at least say that. Landscapes locations very well done actors not so much. Too much over acting. And it's so slow. I mean pick up the pace a little bit it's so slow. Anticipation to the next spooky point is just way over the top. I realize it's an independent feature. Low budget. All the locals doing background. Everybody wants to be in the movies. Very few people can pull it off and this crew have failed. So anyone who wants to make a film like this will you still have a shot of being better recognized for your work. Sad thing is person who wrote the script could not have possibly been satisfied with how it turned out on film.
I wonder what political affiliation the writer is? Lol. Not really. I believe I know. As soon as the Obama signs came out and after the comment about Bush I was immediately turned off. Hard to follow afterwards. Just couldn't hold my interest. Lot of the subject matter in the characters discussions would bore me as when I met people in life who talked about those things. Moving on. The family guy that becomes an abusive drunk. Kinda cliche and unoriginal. The part where the guns come out, another political statement or what? Most of us in the south play guitar on the porch. Then comes the Bible. Now it's a faith based. Just all over the place. Needs more score. Lot of dead spots. 12 years in the making? Maybe I can finish it in that time span. But for now, time to do laundry.
What a stellar performance by Griff First. I really can't believe he wasn't nominated for best supporting at the Oscars. Well I have all the confidence in him to keep on plugging away at these all important roles that have such depth and character. This character wasn't much of a stretch for him though. I mean a mullet wearing dude who likes to get high is right up his alley. As a true Trump supporter and Louisiana resident redneck this wasn't much of a stretch for him either. There's no doubt that he will go far in the Hollywood industry. A real chip off the old block. I see a best actor award soon.
