First off, I don't think it's a spoiler to say that I can smell Gary Oldman's stink through the screen. So much so that I even googled how much time he spends in make-up to achieve how downright nasty his character appears on the screen. But alas!!! I found nothing. But trust me, if he was "Character Acting" we would know. The co-stars would say something. Claire Danes played a similarly disgusting person on Homeland, but Gary is far, far more obvious in his portrayal. That said, this is basically a story of a bunch of Millennials and Boomers forced together in a spy vs. Spy sort of story. There is a lot of humor (American English= American spelling) a little bit of violence and a whole lot of sticking it to the man and behind the back betrayal. But on the whole, it's about two very distinct (I can only come up with personalities) ways of saving the people within the country's borders of Great Britain from terrorism. One side being the all great MI5 and the other being their miscreant, screwup, castoffs. This show is fun. I think that this is only the third show/movie since I joined IMDB more than 20 years ago that I rated above an 8. However, I still can't rate MASH or Cheers. I don't know why, because I am a Boomer after all, let's just say that my rating this a 9 is high praise indeed.
I did manage to get through the first two episodes, so it deserves at least 6 stars. I may revisit my rating later as the series progresses, but for now it's just so-so. It looks like the NCIS version of Young Sheldon. The past is being narrated by one of the original stars. For the most part, the acting was sufficient, except for the guy that plays Gibbs. He's pretty wooden. If he doesn't pick it up or get some better direction, this series will go downhill quickly.
I don't understand why Hawaii and New Orleans were cancelled, but as it stands right now, both this show and Sydney are not doing a very good job of replacing them. We'll see though.

Overall, the show kept me interested. There was a really good mix of comedy and brutality, but the plot holes that the final season created were just plain stupid. Either the production decided to just "phone it in" or they simply thought their audience wasn't worth the time and effort for a well thought out finale. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but just off the top of my head, I can think of three different ways to fix the timeline (according to previous eppisodes) that didn't require the final outcome. That was just plain stupid. And the final scene? GIVE ME A FRIKIN BREAK!!!!!! Silly and disrespectful beyond any other finale I've ever watched. My God!! They must have despised their audience. I gave it 7 stars because it's worth it.......until the end. That was very disappointing.
