Firstly this film is BAD! All the right elements that make a film a classic simply aren't here. However IT IS FUN!

The writing and directing are really bad - no point going into detail about why, they just are. It would be mean to comment on the acting because the actors were given nothing interesting to work with.

The only way to enjoy this film is to go prepared knowing it is simply a BIG BANG ALIEN ATTACK FILM, no story or character to it.

The film is really fun despite all the negatives which cripple it as long as you accept this before watching it!

The designs of the aliens and their ships are pretty cool, nothing groundbreaking but visually exciting regardless.

If you were able to enjoy SKYLINE despite all that films flaws then you should enjoy this. If you like games like Resistance and Halo you should enjoy it. The whole film feels a lot like a video game, and probably should have been one.

Before watching this, make sure you have seen the first film! If you liked that enough then you should like this one! The film is aimed at fans of the first one, so try not to be put off by any hugely negative reviews, this isn't your usual kind of film. The film does follow the same formula as PA1 pretty closely but I found it to be a little more intense than the first film. The larger cast of characters helps to bring a lot more life into the film compared to the first, as does occasional bits of humour - although not without creepy undertones.

The film is really successful at filling you with a sense of dread at the start of every night scene. And towards the end you really feel like you are taking a genuinely scary step into the unknown/decent into a relentless nightmare with the characters.

I really appreciate a film that has the power to make you nervous and have you literately hanging on to your seat dreading what's going to happen next. - That shows the film is powerful(just not in a shawshank redemption kinda way)

If you are the type of person who will allow yourself to be absorbed enough by a film to experience it without being too critical you should have a fun time at the cinema.

The movie is an entertaining ride for the most part as long as you go into the movie prepared for something that will have no unique characters or a decent script. - I saw the movie fully expecting a bad script, characters I wouldn't like, no artful directing, and a plot that fails to do anything new or interesting. But I allowed myself to be entertained by it as a simple piece of sci-fi/monster action! This is what you must do if you go to see it!!

I was mostly inspired to do this review because I think the film doesn't deserve some of the really nasty 2/10 reviews I have seen.

Basically the aliens and each confrontation against them are generally exciting and save the film. Considering the film was made on quite a small budget they did a great job with the effects. I think fans of video games like the RESISTANCE series or HALF LIFE should be able to enjoy it a bit more than most.

A lot of people have been to harsh on this film, it is clear from the trailer this is just another alien invasion movie. Anyone who watches it expecting a modern sci-fi classic like District 9 will be disappointed - so don't do that.

Basically if you are unsure about seeing the film but enjoy sci-fi/monster movies for nothing but quick entertainment you should get something out of it.
