James Cameron did the sequels to this and Alien creating Aliens 2 and Terminator 2 that set a whole new tone to action films and with not stop adrenaline and great ideas doing something very rare, making two sequels better than the great originals. While Arnold may have been a huge action star, working with Cameron was probably key because he never learned American English and certainly couldn't win any awards for acting. But he worked for everything and deserves his fan base. Edward Furlong is the standout performance and at age 13 owns the screen and is the star. A great sequel that blends seamlessly with the original and makes a great double feature.

This film took classic Saturday matinee adventure movies to a whole new level with nonstop action and clever situations with a great storyline and a bit of comedy from the hero Harrison Ford, fresh off the massive success of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back cementing his superstar status it two of the most successful franchises of all time. It has a childlike quality but it's just as perfect for adults and you will watch over and over even though some of it feels a bit dated, it's only because VFX have taken over the craft of set designs, props and film locations. No matter how impossible any situation is you can be sure the adventure hero will succeed, but that's the whole point; a fun time.

A lot of critics hated this and romantic stories are not my favorite, and yet this love story, with Demi Moore who is beautiful and vulnerable, is classic. It's also a thriller with plenty of suspense and when you throw in Whoopi Goldberg's great comedic performance it all adds up a to film worth watching more than once. You find yourself frustrated and throwing clues out to Demi and Whoopi and Patrick which makes it all the more fun. Yet it's still a ghost story and has a scary edge as the movie moves forward. It feels like a movie that should match some of the bad critic reviews, but it doesn't and they are wrong. It's a Hollywood classic.
