My husband and I have read all of the harry hole books and "enjoyed" them. This movie really missed the boat it's a perfect example of too much Hollywood interference. The lack of a cohesive screenplay is especially evident

It is the screen play that is the problem and to read that scorsese was involved and allowed a A grade novel to be ripped apart is unbelievable I would have loved to see other of the Harry Hole mysteries to be filmed but alas the failure of the director and especially the writers and editors put a end to that.

Definitely entertaining not a bad way to spend an evening. Not a lot of action yet a classic story updated and with and set in a seldom seen venue. Decent acting believable didn't know how it would end.
For Anyone who has read and enjoyed the Agatha Raisin as I have is appalled at the license that this program takes. Ashley Jensen is an fine actress but missed cast in this role much is made in the books of Agatha's physical appearance that I cannot get past Ashley's blond hair there are many other changes which were also not necessary I guess if you haven't read the novels you could enjoy this series. I will tell you the books read better then they translate to the screen
