The first two seasons are addictive, once you get used to the long scenes of dialogue. I was looking forward to Season 3. Unfortunately, three of the main actors were replaced! This completely destroyed the mood and story. Sorry!. It was unwatchable. I switched off after 20 minutes. I feel like I've wasted my time watching the first two seasons and getting emotionally invested. If I would have known they were going to have different actors in season 3 I wouldn't have bothered to watch this series at all. From what I've read elsewhere, not many viewers were okay with the recasting either. The ending scenes of Season 2 were bizarre, by the way. My rating based on the first two seasons would be 8 stars.

Everything about this series is wonderful! From the acting, to the storyline, to the lovable characters that will stay with you long after the series finishes. I found myself laughing at scenes and I am someone who hardly manages to smile even when watching "comedies". There is plenty of serious drama in there too. Anyone that is interested in Japanese culture will especially enjoy this and it's a safe bet to state that this series is different to anything you are likely to have seen before. Two of the brilliant main actors (Tomoya Nagase and Toshiyuki Nishida) are in another series made a few years later(2021), called, "Story of My Family", which bears some similarities in the storyline and that one is also exceptionally great.. If there were more than 10 stars, I would give them.

This could have been a fabulous series. The subject matter is highly interesting, but unfortunately, in my opinion, the story really lets this series down.( I'm aware that it is based on a Japanese novel) Not only is it highly unlikely that the government, and other countries, would let the South Korean people fend for themselves in such a catastrophic emergency situation, but even if this could be accepted for the sake of the story, it could still be told in an engaging and interesting way. Instead, the script chooses to focus on the mediocre. We get lots of tedious side plots, such as about child trafficking, escaped prisoners, religious fanatics, bizarre scenes involving raising chickens. I usually enjoy in depth character development, but not these boring conversations of limited importance. Additionally, the timeline jumps back-and-forth which adds confusion.. Not one of the characters are people I could find myself caring deeply about. I was hoping that scenes were already finished and holding back from using the fast forward button. I wanted to give this series a fair chance, but after four episodes, I couldn't stand it any more and will skip to the final episode tonight to see the asteroid strike. On the plus side, the actors all did a great job with the material they were given. Cinematography and overall production values are excellent as well.
