So this was huge disappointment. It's 2025, I think there is a clear and successful road to horror, suspense and drama. That make it interesting and enjoyable to watch a film. This did none of those. It was blah, like watching paint dry, you had to want to like it, to keep watching. At 53 minutes I finally gave up. I didn't like the story, the people or what I was seeing. Bad, bad, bad!
Wow. It's been a while since I saw a movie that, especially a period film, that the plot twist, the cinematography or musical scenes left me in ahhh.
There are several scenes where Sam is singing. It is done so well, the viewer feels it in their soul. That's not easy during a movie (unless it's Bodygaurd), and one scene that was, as the narrator says transcending: I'll call it the juke dance. The song and music is amazing and the dancing and characters take your breath away. It was so beautiful and soulful I could've teared up.
I was genuinely surprised at key moments. I laughed at times, I moved with the music, I gasped at other times and my mouth hung open a couple times. I couldn't peel my eyes away and really enjoyed it.
There was potential to be a very dark lit film, which I personally hate watching dark screens in a movie. It doesn't translate well to tablets or small screens. And it's basically like you're just listening to what's happening. And this took place mostly at night, but it's brilliantly done and the scenes are clear and perfectly lit. It did not disappoint!
It is well written, directed, filmed, edited and produced! The actors should all be considered award winning. Well done!
