Valutazione di Wonderyn
I started this show for Lily, Riley, and Archie, and while I'm only in episode 4, it's hard for me to want to continue because the content is really hard to watch. The acting is superb. The young actresses as well as the adults are wonderful but the girls' cruelty makes it really challenging. I may continue eventually, because it is well done and I imagine the story will go in great directions. Riley is always so strong and natural. And the Indian parents are heartbreakingly kind and loving. It also feels authentically 90s. Hoping it gets a good viewership for people less triggered by this kind of story because it feels honest and real.
I'm reading so many reviews of how this was boring or unnecessary. No this isn't as satisfying as the hunger games. It is a prequel about the origins of President Snow. I've read the book. I could not picture how someone could portray young Snow in the film. Tom Blyth did a shockingly great job. His portrayal was urgent and nuanced in all the right ways. So beyond what I expected. I doubt he will be nominated for this but he should. Looking forward to more of him in the future. Josh Rivera who portrayed Sejanus was incredibly moving. Rachel Zegler did justice to Lucy Gray also. I maybe would have wanted a bit more sinister and less campy Dr Gaul by viola Davis but she was still wonderful. Dinklage and Schafer too. I just felt everyone involved really worked hard to tell a tense, difficult and heartbreaking tale of the Hunger Games origins. I hope you watch and take it in for what it accomplished and not what it didn't quite get right. The book is great too. Suzanne Collins is brilliant. Well done by all.
I really don't get the negative reviews. Not only does this show the brilliance and challenge of navigating trucks on icy roads, it's a great action film with suspense and Liam Neeson in perfect hero form. Forgo judgment and enjoy this awesome flick!
