Terrible acting made it barely watchable. Thank God it was not very long (even if it felt like it). The premise was good but Finn Wittrock's acting and character was very exaggerated. The chases, the conversation and situation where with people he finds along the way didn't make sense. You already know what the ending is going to be like. I hate movies where people just get around doing all kinds of messes and no one sees or suspects anything. Police, emergency services, common sense..everything seems to be inexistent. Definitely would not recommend unless you haven't seen much thrillers and this is the only thing that's available.
This recipe feels really old: Traumatic event, friends trip to a cheap cabin in the woods. Main character is annoying right from the start. It's absurd someone would get involved to go on a trip with such character and binge drinking based on the initial premise. I literally couldn't wait for it to end. I watched it because MAX was recommending it constantly. Horrible acting, cheap repeated premise and slow in everything it does. No plot twists.. no nothing. Goofy characters, same-old tired premise no effort whatsoever. Refrain from wasting your time on this and go rewatch whatever's available on any of your streaming services.
Franco Escamilla's: Ladies' Man is an effortless attempt to repeat Franco's recipe for storytelling and reminiscing about his childhood. No real punchlines or setups. Taking advantage of a strong follower base that'd laugh at anything, recorded laughs come from really cheap and everyday phrases in Mexican culture. Franco's best material is found on small doses, back when you'd find actual written material on 5-10 minutes videos. I really hoped for this to be good.
With everything else he has going on, standup clearly has been set aside. He's usually funny in the assortment of other content he creates, but usually adds on top of other comedians. I really hope to see some improvement on material and goes back to basics.
