The narrow minded, lazy and jealous claim 'Barbie is an unrealistic body standard for women', the counter was always He-Man; other than height I'm far from a masculine ideal but if the driving force is morality, I'll always champion exceptionalism over mediocrity, even if it's something I can't personally attain. The original 80s show was an educational tool for boys and it was mirrored by She-Ra for girls; I watched both and believe the experience added to my desire for equality.
I've watched classic male hero characters replaced in the name of equality and the supposed desire to provide strong female role models, the fear was always a power grab with only a negative subterfuge; I'm grateful for MOTU:Revelation, the motives are now clear. We had our yin and yang in the form of She-Ra and He-Man, they finally showed they have no interest in equality otherwise this would be She-Ra, this is nothing more than an attack on masculinity.
Powerhouse did a great job with the animation.

I don't normally write reviews, but I'm annoyed with films on IMDb rating as 50/50, that turn out to be worth watching. Other reviewers have complained about the flash back narrative being confusing, it's not - so make your own judgement about the reviewers in question. Also reviewers believe 'the story line is unrealistic' and if modern society was like this we're in trouble; well this is supposed to based around real events and we are in trouble, anyone who doesn't know that needs to open their eyes.
Yes the acting is a little wooden in places, but if the real life events took place as illustrated - it's a touching homage to those who have suffered. Respect to the film makers also, some of the more potentially dramatic and harrowing scenes have been skipped over, removing unnecessary sensationalism.
