Valutazione di masonsznip
I watched this film earlier today, and even though I'm 15 it still bothered me. The sound design was extremely upsetting and gross. The narrators voice added to the eerie atmosphere of the short film as well. I have to say I wasn't surprised by the violent twist at the end. In fact, I thought the film was going to be brutally gory just because horror short films are either gore free or bubbling with graphic violence. The minimal violence made the story all the more impactful though. Another thing that really paid off here was the art style. The hyper-realism contrasted with the horror story to add to the foreboding scenario. Would recommend to anyone 16+.

This film was well made and thought provoking. It is a social commentary on how the rich are ignorant of the struggles of poor people, leeching off of them without considering the negative effects it has on them. This element of the story was displayed in a unique and disturbing way that escalated in the shocking and bloody climax. Unfortunately, this film in my opinion wasn't as groundbreaking and masterful as the critics said it was. It winked at the revenant issues in society without instigating change. None of the people in the movie who were victims of this evil cycle did anything about their predicament to start helping others (The rich) and get out of their situation by accessible community college means (The poor). Despite the critic hype and intelligently displayed class war at the heart of the story, it felt as if it used the same rinsed and recycled props, sub-plots, downfalls, cliches, and unfortunate endings to display an ongoing problem in our society that has yet to be changed. This movie isn't really asking for change, it is just putting people against each other, still oblivious to the situation, rather then showing activism and improving the welfare of others.
