I'd heard SO MUCH about this movie before going on. The Oscar buzz is crazy high. Not sure if I went in sky high expectations, but it felt like it wasn't.....what I had hoped it would be. A good film, surely worth a one-time watch, but not what I thought it would be.

I liked the premise, I don't think I've come across this in the previous revenge thrillers. There was scope to build tension throughout the film but I thought it ended up being a simple lost opportunity sort of a situation.

There is a scene that plays out in a hospital and you're like, yeah I can almost predict what is going to happen at the end, and sure enough...The final moments of the film I thought was a great way to end such a story but it felt like that was the highpoint of the story and it fell flat 20 mins in.

I really wanted to like this film but the reception it's been receiving is only making me feel like I'm missing out because I can't see what others are seeing. I have a feeling this will get a massive push and end up winning the International film Oscar and I'll still sit confused, not knowing why this got the nudge over at least two more films that I think are more deserving.

Rashmika's performance was GOOD! The hate she receives for simply being chosen to be in several mainstream movies is undeserved. She pretty much carried this movie. The plot was nothing new, you've seen the 'toxic relationship' storyline several times before. I wish this were at least set in modern times.

FANTASTIC first half. Mid second half. Amazing sound design throughout the film.

I don't care what you say, DQ is increasingly staking a claim to be THE 'Pan-India' star. Making a good movie and dubbing it across languages is one thing, but being able to make GOOD movies in several languages, that's a different level pedigree and that's exactly what bro's been able to do over the years.
