I was expecting a better movie to be honest. The source material is good enough to make a good zombie film that, even though it isn't very original, it has cool ideas and some unexpected plot twist.
The book was able to create a great atmosphere, with numerous cliffhangers. The characters were well written and they had depth. But there is nothing of the sort in the movie. Everything happens very quickly. The changes in the plot are just bad, they seem lazy and formulaic. They added some characters that really shouldn't be there.
The zombies were well made, that is true. In the book were slow and that is usually a mistake, but here are very dangerous. However, they don't appear as much and theirs scenes are very simple, nothing we haven't seen hundreds of times in other movies.
Read the book, it is so much better.
