Wrestling and Zac Efron, there's no combo like it, right? Add in Lip from Shameless and you've got a great blend of heart and humor, The Iron Claw is a movie I didn't catch when it came out but had the pleasure of viewing today, and it was very feasible for what it was.

Zac Efron gives a powerful performance, having to balance being a wrestling champion, a father, a son, and a brother all at the same time, the pressure gets to him and he's able to be funny but also emotional, even if it seems like he's just reading lines sometimes.

His other co-stars don't exactly add up, however, many of the performances felt stilted and the story got very stunted at times, but picked up in others, it also started at one point and didn't seem to have too clear of a structure, but all in all, was very decent

I'll be seeing the hit Broadway show in a few days, so I found it well suited to view the original classic, which I have heard many great things about, I haven't seen many black and white old-fashioned movies but I am a fan, and this one was positively captivating.

A story about a fading film star going back into the spotlight, it's been done before but not in this same unique fashion, the lead actress gives a stunning performance, keeping a serious demeanor throughout the entire runtime, almost in a fashion of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, while I didn't exactly understand all the motivations or storylines the film kept my attention all the way through the long runtime.

I will definitely be rewatching it at some point, it needs it
